Jaipur, Feb 18 (ANI): Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) is all set to provide Wi-Fi facility to the travellers by the end of this month. Jaipur is first city in the country to have all stations equipped with Wi-Fi facility. This project is one of the enthusiastic projects of Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje. The facility will be free for one hour in a day and the passengers will be able to use it at all the metro stations. The public, especially youth in Jaipur, is enthusiastic for this development and thankful to authorities for this great job.

Rajasthan gets its first woman Qazi

Jaipur, Feb 08 (ANI): In a first in the state and breaking the stereotype, Rajasthan has got its first woman Qazi. Jahan Ara becomes the first woman Qazi of Rajasthan after completing her two-year training course from Mumbai-based Darul Uloom-i-Nisawa. The Jaipur-based woman was handed over her certificate for 'Qaziyat' on Friday. Now, she can officially be called Qazi Jahan Ara. Elaborating about being first woman Qazi, Jahan Ara said they are running a campaign as they are associated with National Women Welfare Association. She added that she has become a Qazi and she will ensure that women get all the rights on ground, which they have according to Islam.

AAI to make airport facilities as commercially viable

New Delhi, Jan 23 (ANI): The Airports Authority of India will enhance its marketing strategy to make airports more operationally and commercially viable. At the Airport Marketing Conference held recently in New Delhi, the officials and experts chalked out a strategy to make commercial use of airport infrastructure in the country. Formed in April 1995, the Airports Authority of India manages 125 destinations, including 77 domestic and 21 international airports in the country. The Authority is also looking at focusing on the cargo segment to boost its revenues. It has been undertaking the International Cargo handling operations at international airports including Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Coimbatore, Amritsar and Guwahati. Similarly, the Authority has identified 24 domestic airports across five regions, including three civil enclaves to develop such integrated facilities. They include Port Blair, Coimbatore, Jaipur, Raipur, Ahmedabad and others. The Airports Authority of India, which has developed infrastructure at many of its airports, is looking forward to make its commercial use.

CM Raje attends literary festival in pink city

Jaipur, Jan 22 (ANI): Asia's largest literary festival kicked off in Jaipur, in a testament to the growing global influence of Indian literature and its appeal to both publishers and authors. Regional language novelists and poets will rub shoulders with Nobel laureates and Booker Prize winners at the annual Jaipur Literary Festival where organisers will showcase works from different states and dialects to thousands of book lovers. Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje, inaugurated the event which began with the playing of Rajasthani traditional folk music. Hundreds of thousands of writers, critics, publishers and fans are expected to pack Jaipur's streets for the five-day event from January 21. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Chief Minister Raje emphasized on the habit of reading books. Access to all the events is free, and with no VIP treatment for the best-selling writers and poets, fans can get unique access to their favourite authors. In addition to die-hard bookworms, the festival's music and dancing events attract students, tourists, and even India's celebrity glitterati.

Six dead, 40 injured in road accident

Rajasthan/ Mathura, Jan 11 (ANI): At least six people were killed and 40 others injured as the bus they were travelling in overturned on a highway in Rajasthan. The bus was travelling to capital Jaipur city when it met with the accident near Tonk district. Local authorities rushed the injured to a nearby hospital. The condition of six people is reported to be serious. Local lawmaker, Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria, expressed remorse at the accident. Meanwhile, in another tragic incident, four people were killed and three others seriously injured in a car accident on Yamuna Expressway in Mathura district. One of the tyres of the car burst, throwing the vehicle out of control. Police is investigating the case.
