Dahod police chargesheet nails 6 of 8 accused in Hiren Patel ‘murder’

The first chargesheet in the case registered at the Jhalod police station was filed on January 8, with the investigation going on to confiscate the light utility vehicle (LUV) that was allegedly used to stage the hit and run as part of the September 27 contract killing of Patel, police said.

Amit Katara, who is accused of commissioning the contract, was named by key conspirator Imran Gudala, who was nabbed by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) from Haryana on December 27, after two months of being on the run.

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) had nabbed Gudala from Mewat in Haryana Monday, following which the Dahod police brought him to Jhalod, where he was subjected to a Covid-19 test and formally arrested.

The ATS detained Gudala, accused number seven who was on the run since October, from Mewat in Haryana on Sunday.

In the letter, a copy of which is with The Indian Express, Solanki has said the information is required in connection with the probe of Patel's case, which has been registered under IPC Section 302 (culpable homicide amounting to murder).
