Born on November 29, 1982, this Indian actress, producer, and former politician is primarily known for her contributions to the Kannada film industry, though she has also appeared in Tamil and Telugu films. Ramya's acting career began in 2003 with Abhi. Her notable performances in Amrithadhare (2005) and Tananam Tananam (2006) earned her the Udaya Award and a Filmfare Award South for Best Actress, respectively. The 2011 romantic drama Sanju Weds Geetha, and the fantasy film Katari Veera Surasundarangi, further solidified her position as a leading actress, culminating in a Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actress. Her commercially successful films include the 2016 epic-fantasy Nagarahavu.
