New Delhi, Feb 26 (ANI) Rajan Bhagat, public relations officer of the Delhi Police, said Kanhaiya Kumar who has been booked on sedition charges, have been taken on one-day remand by the Delhi police for further investigation in the JNU unrest. He added that that Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya, who are also facing the charges of sedition, will be confronted on Friday for investigation. He further said necessary action must be taken against the accused.

New Delhi, Feb 25 (ANI): Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Prem Nath informed that a local court has sent Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya, Jawaharlal Nehru University students booked on sedition charges, to three-day police remand. The DCP said the Delhi Police will interrogate the students amid tight security. Khalid and Bhattacharya are among the five students, who along with JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar, had allegedly raised ‘anti-national’ slogans at an event organised on the university campus on February 9.

Following a medical check-up, the two were interrogated on Wednesday for around five hours and will be presented before the magistrate later in the day. Khalid and Bhattacharya are among the five students who, along with JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar, had allegedly shouted anti-national slogans at an event organised in the university campus on February 9.
