Anil Kapoor: A Four-Decade Reign in Bollywood and Beyond Anil Kapoor, born December 24, 1956, is a prominent Indian actor and producer with a career spanning over four decades. Son of film producer Surinder Kapoor, he began with minor roles, notably in Hamare Tumhare (1979). His breakthrough came with Mashaal (1984), leading to a string of action-packed hits like Meri Jung, Karma, Mr. India, Tezaab, and Ram Lakhan, solidifying his star status in the 1980s. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Kapoor continued to deliver commercially successful films including Beta, Andaz, Virasat, and Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain. His versatility is evident in his performances, ranging from action hero to romantic lead. He achieved critical acclaim with the National Film Award for Best Actor for his role in Pukar (2000) and a Special Jury Award for producing Gandhi, My Father (2007).
