The actor has carved a special place for himself in the industry with his flamboyant nature, back-to-back hits and impeccable sense of humour. From playing a boy-next-door in his debut film Band Baaja Baaraat to portraying the Maratha warrior Bajirao in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Bajirao Mastani, the actor has tried and tested himself with every genre. Having spent almost four-and-a-half years in the industry, Ranveer has become one of the most desired actors in Bollywood. Let's take quick recap of his life in Bollywood.

Ranveer Singh made his Bollywood debut as a Delhi University student in Yash Raj Film's Band Baaja Baraat (2010) opposite Anushka Sharma. The film was a surprise hit and Ranveer was warmly received by audience and critics alike. He became Bollywood's favourite guy next door, the one with fab abs.

His second release Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl saw Ranveer started climbing what one would call the pathway to versatility. The title character had various avatars in the movie and Ranveer carried it all with panache.

Ranveer’s portrayal of the emotionally conflicted Varun in Vikramaditya Motwane’s Lootera (2013) was unexpected. According to critics, Ranveer brought a smouldering intensity to his role. Compare this with Bittoo Sharma of Band Baaja Baraat and you know you have a superstar in the making.

In the same year, Ranveer Singh bagged his meatiest project. He played a modern-day Romeo in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram-Leela opposite rumoured girlfriend Deepika Padukone. His chemistry with Deepika became the talking point. This was Ranveer in a new avatar altogether, flaunting a chiselled body and a Gujarati accent.

Not everything he touched was success. Kill Dil (2014) was an example.

He came together with friend Arjun Kapoor in Gunday. His portrayal of an immigrant in Kolkata was lauded by the audiences.

He was seen in Zoya Akhtar's multi-starrer Dil Dhadakne Do (2015) with the likes of Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. The film was about a dysfunctional Punjabi family that takes a vacation along with their friends aboard a cruise ship. His performances was loved by the audiences and his sizzling hot chemistry with Anushka Sharma was cherry on the cake.

In the same year, Ranveer landed a role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Bajirao Mastani. He played the role of Maratha warrior Bajirao opposite his lady love Deepika Padukone. His performance in the film steered his popularity onto a new high altogether and he also won many awards for the film.

At the recently concluded IIFA 2016 in Madrid, Spain, Ranveer and Deepika were seen blowing kisses to each other and making hearts with their hands during their performance. While receiving the Best Actor award for his performance in Bajirao Mastani, he mentioned Deepika in his acceptance speech and said, “Nothing makes me happier than you, Deepika. Nothing makes me happier then receiving this award with you.”

Ranveer will be next seen Aditya Chopra's directorial venture Befikre alongside Vaani Kapoor. Ranveer and Vaani will be seen doing almost 23 lip locks in the film. The poster of the film have already created a huge buzz around the movie. The movie has been extensively shot in the city of love, Paris. The cast and crew of the film recently wrapped the shoot of the film, which is slated to release on December 9.
