2.0 audio launch: Dubai is ready to host Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar film

The much-awaited audio release of superstar Rajinikanth's 2.0, co-starring Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, is all set to take place in Dubai amid much fanfare and on a scale never-seen-before for an Indian film. Rajinikanth reached Dubai a day earlier for the mega event, which will have some of the biggest names from Indian cinema. Actor Dhanush, son-in-law of the Thalivar also arrived in Dubai, presumably for the audio release function.

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, who will be making his debut with 2.0, has been quite upbeat about the project. He has been sharing updates related to the upcoming audio release function in Dubai. He also posted a picture of himself along with the core 2.0 team standing on a rooftop helipad, while waiting for their ride to arrive. He plays the role of Dr Richard, an evil scientist, who is the main antagonist in the film.

Dubai rolled out the red carpet for the main star cast of 2.0, including Rajinikanth, director Shankar, Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson and producer Subaskaran on Thursday. A press conference was held where the film's crew promised the audience a one-of-its-kind cinematic experience.

Director Shankar clarified that his magnum-opus, 2.0, is not the extension of Enthiran, which is the first film in the franchise. He said the upcoming film is a global film made on international standards, which will strike a chord with the audience across the world. He said he doesn't consider 2.0 as a Tamil film but it is an Indian film

Oscar-winning AR Rahman will be handling 2.0 audio release event in Dubai's Burj Park, which will begin at 6pm on Friday. The renowned musician will enthrall the audience by giving a live performance of songs from 2.0 music album.

Actor Kamal Haasan and the King of Dubai are also expected to grace the high profile event. Well, it is just the beginning of a series of promotional events in the run-up to the theatrical release of 2.0
