Four Dallas police officers were killed of the eleven officers shot by snipers on Thursday at a protest being held over fatal police shootings of black men in Minnesota and Louisiana.
The gunfire broke out around 8:45 PM (CT) on Thursday, with protesters marching along a street in downtown when the shots erupted and the crowd scattered, seeking cover.
“Two snipers shot 10 officers, three of whom were killed. Two officers were in surgery, one in critical condition, no suspect in custody,” said Dallas Police Chief David Brown in a statement. “An intensive search for suspects is currently underway,” Brown said.
