Two days before he was arrested in Harare for alleged rape, Indian national Krishna Satyanarayana Gandlur was part of the post-match presentation ceremony after the third ODI between India and Zimbabwe. He was seen handing over the ‘Player of the Match’ cheque to Jasprit Bumrah.
Satyanarayana works as a consultant for iTeamWorks and was linked to the in-stadia rights-holder of the ongoing India-Zimbabwe series. A June 11 press release by Zimbabwe Cricket described him as co-founder of ITW Sports. Ravi Krishnan, arrested along with Satyanarayana, is an Indian businessman based in Zambia.

On Tuesday, they were referred to the High Court for bail. The duo had applied for consent for bail through defence attorney Dumisani Mthombeni at the Magistrates Court. It is learnt that Mthombeni will now apply for their bail in the High Court. “It has been deferred to tomorrow,” Mthombeni told The Indian Express.
According to the Zimbabwe Police ‘request for remand’ document, “Krishna Satyanarayana Gandlur and Ravi Krishnan were arrested on Friday from the Meikles Hotel on charges of rape.” This was confirmed by Charity Charamba, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP).
