Cong taunts BJP over ‘helplessness’ before Yeddyurappa

“Something very strange is happening under our very own eyes. Is the BJP or Yeddyurappa waiting for some auspicious date or time to announce his resignation or arranging their affairs in Karnataka or removing papers from the office before he resigns? What is it that makes the BJP so helpless when it comes to Yeddyurappa? What is the remote control Yeddyurappa holds over the BJP and its central leadership that they have to leave it to him to decide the time of his resignation,to decide the date of his resignation,to decide the manner of his resignation and to appoint his own successor? I would suggest that the power and the remote control which Yeddyurappa exercises over the entire BJP requires as much investigation and examination as the issues and the corruption scams investigated by 22,000 page Lokayukta report,” Congress spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi said at a press briefing here.

Senior Congress leader Mohan Prakash said in 2009,Reddy brothers,backed by BJP’s Central leadership,had forced Yeddyurappa to cry publicly and accept their demands.

“It was the BJP Central leadership who had given patronage to Reddy brothers. They cannot wash their hands of the illegal mining now. They owe an explanation to the country,” he said.
