“I was trying to listen to the cricket in Amsterdam. I was screaming: ‘Australia are all out!’

“I first got interested in cricket about the time I heard Freddie Flintoff had a wee in the Prime Minster”s garden at Downing Street.

“No,seriously,I followed the 2005 Ashes – my dad is really into it and used to play. The girls would sit in the pavilion making sandwiches and the boys would play cricket.”

“I’m an entertainer and my shows last an hour and it’s all very quick – life in the fast lane. But I’m not into one-day cricket or Twenty20,I’m into Test matches. I love the five-day slog.
