RSS holding meetings with BJP to strategise for UP Assembly elections

The meeting, held under RSS Sah Sarkaryavah Krishnagopal, was attended by BJP national general secretary (organisation) Ram Lal, national joint secretary (organisation) Shiv Prakash, BJP state president Keshav Prasad Maurya, state general secretary (organisation) Sunil Bansal, president and organisation secretaries of Kashi and Gorakhpur regions as well as party state co-incharge Sunil Ojha and RSS Kshetra Pracharak Shivnarain.

Sources said that meeting of Awadh regional unit will be held in Lucknow on Wednesday. Meetings of Paschim (west) and Braj regions have already held in Bulandshahr. The date for meeting of Kanpur-Bundelkhand region is yet to be decided.

Party sources said that in these meetings suggestions received from RSS’s different wings like VHP are also discussed regarding the poll preparations.

During elections, RSS look after responsibility of distribution of voter slips, poll management at party office and mobilising voters to cast votes. BJP leaders hold responsibility of poll campaign like public meetings and road shows. Responsibilities of RSS and BJP local functionaries are also being decided in these coordination meetings.

Sources said that in the meeting of west UP, BJP as well as RSS senior functionaries received suggestions that ticket for assembly elections should be given to full time party workers who hail from middle class families to carry image of common man.
