Kerala film actor Suresh Gopi to join BJP

Kerala film actor Suresh Gopi on Thursday said he will soon join the BJP. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi would decide on when I should join the party. Most probably it would be after the Republic Day,” said the actor.

Gopi’s reaction came after BJP state president V Muraleedharan welcomed the actor to the party fold. “Three months back, our national leaders and I had talked to Gopi in this regard. Now, we invite the actor to the BJP. It is up to him to decide on when he should join the party,” said Muraleedharan.

Gopi said he was willing to contest election as a BJP candidate. Earlier, the actor had even expressed his intention to join Modi’s cabinet.
Recently, the actor, who have 200-odd Malayalam films to his credit, had created a controversy saying that the Hindu community should come forward to make the proposed Vizhinjam container transship terminal project a reality.

Gopi had said the Hindu community should chip in their contributions for the project.
