The Maharashtra state government has raised the “beef” stakes by becoming the first Indian state to ban consumption and sale of beef. The state will impose a fine of Rs 10,000 and jail sentence of five years on the wrongdoers. However, it is not the same for their bovine brothers and sisters in other states.
