Bollywood actor Inder Kumar arrested, booked for rape and assault

She said she was introduced to Kumar about three months ago and they became friends. Kumar later allegedly promised to get her a lead role in a movie starring Salman Khan.

The woman told the police that Kumar fought with his wife on Thursday, after which he turned up at her house in Four Bungalows, asking her to spend time with him. She agreed and went to his house, where he allegedly raped and assaulted her.

Kumar, who has acted in films like Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, Tumko na Bhool Payenge stays in a sixth-floor flat in the the building, while his wife stays in the same building on another floor.

A day earlier, Kumar and his wife allegedly had a fight while the complainant was at his residence. Kumar’s wife approached the police on Wednesday alleging he had assaulted the complainant. The complainant, however, told the police Friday that she was forced to lie to the police earlier when she denied any incident of assault as alleged by Kumar’s wife. She told the police she lied since Kumar had threatened to kill her if she failed to speak in his favour before the police.

“We have registered a case of rape, assault and criminal intimidation against Kumar and arrested him. The woman is recuperating at Cooper Hospital in Vile Parle,” V Harishchandra Parmale, senior inspector of Versova police station, said.
