Actress Ashwini Bhave one among three hosts for PM Modi’s California event

Actress Ashwini Bhave will be one among three people who will be hosting the September 27 reception for Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the SAP Center in California. Bhave has acted in several Hindi and Marathi films in the 90s some of which include Henna, Sainik and Bandhan.

Along with Bhave, journalist Raj Mathai, an Emmy award winner and the weeknight news anchor for NBC Bay Area, and comedian Rajiv Satyal, who hosts his own weekly show at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood, will be playing the hosts at the massive reception expected to be attended by close to 20,000 people.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a transformational force that India has been waiting for! I’m honored and privileged to be the emcee at the reception to welcome PM Modi to Silicon Valley,” said Bhave in a press release.

This is PM Modi’s second visit to the United States where he will also be attending the annual meeting of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. He will also be meeting with a bunch of Fortune 500 CEOs in a bid to attract investments to India.

The California reception is being actively organized by the Indo-American Community of West Coast. The Bay Area in California is home to about half-a-million-strong Indian-Americans.

Last year, when PM Modi visited the US, a massive reception awaited him at the Madison Square Garden in New York, predominantly attended by Indian-Americans.
