The government on Wednesday revoked suspension of IAS officer G K Dwivedi, who was suspended on September 2 when it emerged that the FCRA registration of teleevangelist Zakir Naik’s NGO Islamic Research Foundation had been renewed despite an ongoing probe against him. Dwivedi has been kept on “compulsory wait”.
Sources said he has been placed on compulsory wait with DoPT, indicating that he could be shifted to another ministry or repatriated to his parent cadre. His central deputation ends in September next year.
