Muzaffarnagar: Two sentenced to five years in jail for cow slaughter

A court in Muzaffarnagar has sentenced two persons to five year imprisonment for slaughtering cows in Shamli district in 2007.

Additional district sessions judge Manoj Kumar on Monday convicted Israil and Monu and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 each on them.

According to government lawyer Javed Ali, Israil and Monu were arrested during a raid and cow meat was seized from their house in Azizpur village under Jhinjhana police station of Shamli district on August 20, 2007.
