Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday claimed he was stopped from entering Bisara village by police, after women residents heckled journalists and pelted them with stones earlier in the day.
However, two hours later, Kejriwal met residents of the village and the family of 50-year-old Mohammad Akhlaq, who was beaten to death on Monday night by a mob following allegations of cow slaughter and beef consumption.

According to the AAP leaders visiting Bisara, the police led them to the NTPC guesthouse in Dadri instead of taking them to the village. “We r stopped by police n admn. Mahesh Sharma n Owaisi not stopped yest. Then y me? I am most peace loving. Want 2 just meet Ikhlak’s family,” Kejriwal tweeted while at the guesthouse.
“I m being accused of doing politics… But I m doing politics of unity and love. They r doing politics of hatred,” he tweeted.
We firmly beileve that Hindus n Muslims have to stay united n not become vote banks. They want to divide people(2/2)

Senior police officers, on the other hand, said the CM had been brought to the NTPC guesthouse and asked to stay there till the situation was brought under control in Bisara.
Meanwhile, Kejriwal attacked political parties for “indulging in votebank politics”. Addressing mediapersons outside Akhlaq’s house, even as a group of angry women residents surrounded the gathering, Kejriwal said, “One political party is trying to consolidate the Hindu votebank, while another is trying to strengthen their Muslim votebank, by spreading poison between the two communities. This is wrong.”
Kejriwal, along with senior leaders Ashutosh, Kumar Vishwas and Sanjay Singh, also met women residents of Bisara. They alleged that the media was showing one side of the story and ignoring the plight of those who were allegedly picked up at random by police. After listening to their concerns, Kejriwal told them a thorough inquiry in the case should be conducted.
“What happened in Dadri was against humanity. It was totally wrong. Who benefited from it, neither Hindus nor Muslims. Only political parties are benefiting,” he said. “If somebody thinks Hindu religion is in danger and that is why Muslims are being targeted, then he cannot be a Hindu,” the CM added.
Kejriwal also attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his silence on the issue. “Many pol leaders hv visited Dadri. But PM is silent till now. People will be happy if PM also visited n reassured victims n villagers…,” he said in a series of tweets.
