“The spate in unpleasant incidents such as this is most disturbing,” CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said soon after the ink attack.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Monday condemned the ink attack on MLA Sheikh Rashid by members of a Hindu outfit in New Delhi.
Soon after the attack, Sayeed said, “In a vibrant democracy like India, we need to have courage to respect dissent and provide space to different points of view. The spate in unpleasant incidents such as this is most disturbing.”

Meanwhile, supporters of independent legislator have decided to hold a peaceful march in Srinagar against the attack.
Earlier, Rashid who represents Langate constituency in the state assembly was assaulted by BJP legislators in the assembly for organising a beef party. The attack in the assembly was condemned by all the mainstream political parties. BJP later apologized for the attack.
