The window will enable candidates to update and edit certain sections of the JEE Main 2026 application. JEE Main 2026: What can be changed?

During the JEE Main 2026 application correction facility, candidates are allowed to modify certain details in their application form.

Information that can be changed includes the candidate’s name, father’s name, or mother’s name, educational qualification details of Class 10 and 12, state code of eligibility, date of birth, gender, category, sub-category/PwD status, signature, choice of paper, examination city selection (based on permanent or present address), and medium of examination (based on permanent or present address).

However, some details cannot be altered during the correction process. These include the candidate’s mobile number, email address, present or permanent address, emergency contact details, and the uploaded photograph of the candidate

JEE Main 2026: How to update the application form?

During the JEE Main 2026 application correction window, candidates can make changes to their application form by following a few simple steps.

Step 1: First, visit the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in and click on the “Registered Candidate Login” link.

Step 2: Then, log in using your application number along with your password or date of birth.

Step 3: Once logged in, the application form will appear on the screen.

Step 4: Candidates should carefully select the specific details they wish to modify, make the necessary corrections.

Step 5: Finally, click on the submit button to save the changes.

Candidates must follow specific instructions for uploading images and documents. Both colour and black‑and‑white photographs are acceptable, and candidates may wear spectacles in the photo, but sunglasses and caps are strictly prohibited.

The photograph must be clear, as unclear or blurred images will not be accepted, and it should meet the prescribed file size and format requirements set by the NTA.

Similarly, the signature must be neatly done on white paper and uploaded in the correct size and format. All other required documents should also adhere to the file size and format specifications provided by the NTA to ensure a successful JEE Main submission.

Missing JEE Main 2026 session 1 does not disqualify a candidate from the exam altogether. In fact, many students prefer appearing only in JEE Main session 2 for better preparation time, board exam alignment, or logistical comfort. The scores from either attempt or the best of the two will be considered for admission to NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and eligibility for JEE Advanced.
