The state government is gearing up to release a series of advertisements in January during the Bengal Global Business Summit in order to promote tourism in Bengal, according to official sources.
State brand ambassador Shahrukh Khan will feature in these advertisements, for which “Experience Bengal” is the tagline. The tourism department has come out with pamphlets on 20 prominent tourist spots, which will have detailed information on accommodation, booking and other essentials.
“We have been working hard to promote tourism in Bengal through our website and social networking sites. Bengal has a very unique geographical location and diversity. The state has lot of possibilities and opportunities which the government is trying to explore,” said an official.
The campaign has been created in a way that it will attract domestic as well as foreign tourists, the official added. Earlier, hoardings had been installed at airports targeting foreign tourists.
“We are all set with the ad campaign, and it has been done wonderfully. When exactly it will be unveiled is a policy matter, but whenever it comes out, it will have great impact,” State Tourism Minister Gautam Deb told The Indian Express.
“The campaign has covered Bengal as a whole, and will showcase the different festivals and shades of culture existing in Bengal,” he added
The list of places to visit will include Darjeeling hills, Sundarbans and the tea gardens of Dooars.
