The last few months have not been kind for Kapil Sharma.
The last few months have been really difficult for Kapil Sharma. From getting into a fight with co-star Sunil Grover to major health issues and even The Kapil Sharma Show taking a break, it has been quite a roller coaster for the actor-comedian. But like a phoenix, he is set to comeback with his new film Firangi. The movie has been receiving a positive feedback and Kapil, who apart from acting, is also its producer, is making all amends to promote it. Sadly, his failing health has come as a hindrance to his plans. The actor was to shoot for The Great Indian Laughter Challenge today but had to cancel his plans after being unwell.
It would have been a homecoming for Kapil, as his claim to fame was one of the earlier seasons of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. The show recently made a comeback and has Akshay Kumar as the super judge. Sajid Khan and Shreyas Talpade have also joined the stand-up comedy show after replacing Mallika Dua, Hussain Dalal and Zakir Khan. While Kapil is on a promotion spree on various television shows, it only seemed justified that he goes back to the stage where it all started for him.
Shared a source with indianexpress.com, “Kapil gave a go ahead last night and the shoot was planned for today. The team waited for a while but seeing no trace of Kapil started the acts in the hope that he could join later on. His team later in the afternoon informed that Kapil wasn’t keeping well and it won’t be possible for him to join the shoot. Though the team has been left disappointed, knowing Kapil’s health concerns, we wish he recovers soon.”

At the trailer launch of Firangi, Kapil had spoken his heart out on how difficult life had turned out to be in recent times for him. He had also shared that he was depressed and got suicidal and his friends finally managed to pull him out of it. Talking on how panic attacks got his work to suffer, he told media, “I could not step on the stage to perform and would cancel the shoot. I suffered from anxiety and drank myself silly. I would stay locked up in the office with my pet dog. People stopped coming on the show and I went off the radar.”
The comedy star was recently seen on Bigg Boss 11 where he had a gala time interacting with the contestants and host Salman Khan. He has also shot for a special episode of Super Dancer 2 which will air soon. Firangi, that also stars Ishita Dutta, Monica Gill, Edward Sonnenblick, Rajesh Sharma, Inaamulhaq, Aanjjan Srivastav among others is slated to release on November 24.
