The ‘Big Khan’ Wedding: Arpita Khan, Aayush Sharma’s wedding ceremonies begin

The big day has finally arrived and we can contain our excitement no longer. Salman Khan’s baby sister, Arpita Khan is all set to tie the knot to Delhi-based fiancé Aayush Sharma today, Tuesday (November 18), in an extravagant wedding ceremony held at the Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad.

The wedding ceremony has begun. The media is leaving no stone unturned in brining to you constant updates from the most-talked about wedding in the country this year.

The bride and groom have exchanged the ‘varmala’, with the family members, including Salman Khan standing beside them. One can see Salman Khan standing as a responsible brother beside the family.

The Khan-daan was seen leaving for the grand affair on Monday (November 17), a day prior to the wedding.

The family has been eagerly waiting for this special day to arrive and are super-excited about having a family wedding after almost 16 years.

Salman Khan is barring no expense when it comes to the celebrations. The wedding venue is said to be costing a whopping Rs 2 crore per day and the family is reported to have booked it for five days. The who’s who of the country has been invited to partake in this celebration of love, right from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Shah Rukh Khan. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether the PM will attend the wedding since he is travelling abroad.

The confirmed guest list does include popular names from the film fraternity including Salman’s former flame Katrina Kaif, good friend Aamir Khan and wife Kiran Rao, Hrithik Roshan, Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, David Dhawan with his wife and sons Varun, Rohit, veteran actress Hema Malini along with husband Dharmendra.

From the South film industry, actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi, his son Ram Charan Teja, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh and their families will be among select guests.

Salman Khan along with father Salim Khan, has invited leading politicians, sportspersons and industrialist for the ceremony. About 300 guests are likely to attend the wedding.

And of course, there can’t be a celebration without an elaborate feast. We hear the Khan family will have some pouplar Hyderabadi delicacies to be included in the menu including the authentic lip-smacking Hyderabadi biryani and Pathar Ka Gosht.

Reportedly, brothers Salman, Sohail and Arbaaz Khan have a special wedding surprise for their sister, Arpita. The trio will perform at the wedding – Salman will dance to ‘Jeene ke hain chaar din’, Arbaaz to ‘Hudd hudd Dabangg’ and Sohail will shake a leg on the title track of ‘Jai Ho’. Filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala, who is a very close friend of Salman Khan, will also perform along with the Khan men and dance on ‘Chalti hai kya nau se barah’ from the hit movie ‘Judwa’.

And if that’s not enough, generous Salman Khan recently gifted Arpita and her husband-to-be, a 3BHK terrace flat in suburban Bandra, which is said to be worth close to Rs. 16 crores.

The sangeet ceremony took place at the Khan residence, Galaxy Apartments on Sunday (November 16). Shah Rukh Khan, who has confirmed his attendance at the wedding, also dropped in for the function. Arpita shared a picture of herself flanked by both Shah Rukh and Salman, who are pictured kissing her forehead affectionately.

Well, we wish the couple a happy wedded life and hope the celebrations go off smoothly. But that won’t be the end of this grand affair. The Khan family is hosting an elaborate reception in Mumbai on November 21, that will be attended by the crème de la crème from various walks of life.
