Priyanka Chopra to be paired opposite Jake McLaughlin in ‘Quantico’

Priyanka Chopra will be paired opposite Jake McLaughlin in 'Quantico', best known for shows like 'Grey's Anatomy', 'CSI: Miami' and 'The Mentalist'.

Priyanka Chopra Priyanka Chopra will be seen playing a pivotal role – an FBI agent – in the drama ‘Quantico’.

After mesmerising the Indian audiences, Priyanka Chopra is all set to take on Hollywood now. The former Miss World has signed a one-year contract with the US based studio ‘ABC Network’ and has shifted base to US for the next six months to fulfil her commitments.

Priyanka will make her American debut soon and will be seen playing the pivotal role of Alex – an FBI agent – in the drama ‘Quantico’.

Priyanka will be paired opposite Jake McLaughlin, best known for shows like ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘CSI: Miami’ and ‘The Mentalist’. Jake will portray a suave guy who meets Priyanka’s character and then, Priyanka unravels the mystery around his real identity. The drama will be produced by Josh Safran, Mark Gordon and Nick Pepper.

The actress has confirmed this on her Instagram account and posted a picture depicting ‘Quantico’s starcast.

Priyanka, thereby, joins the list of the Indian-origin actors who have made way into Hollywood via TV. The list includes the likes of Dev Patel in ‘Newsroom’, Sakina Jaffrey in ‘House of Cards’, Kunal Nayyar in ‘Big Bang Theory’, Senthil Ramamurthy in ‘Heroes’ and ‘Covert Affairs’ and Archana Panjabi in ‘The Good Wife’ among others.

More recently, Poorna Jaganathan, who featured in ‘Delhi Belly’, had a cameo in ‘House of Cards: Season 3’ and also features in HBO’s ‘Criminal Justice’. Another Indian actress to make the crossover is Nimrat Kaur, who catapulted to success with ‘The Lunchbox’. She played an ISI agent in the fourth season of ‘Homeland’. Suraj Sharma, who starred in ‘Life of Pi’, also had an important role in the same show.
