Great Grand Masti, which is the third in the adult comedy franchise that began with 2004’s Masti, made an opening box office collection of Rs 2.50 cr. Director Indra Kumar and film’s cast including Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani and Urvashi Rautela have expressed their displeasure over the dampening effect of the movie’s online leak on its box-office collection.
As per the makers, the adult-comedy Great Grand Masti, which was leaked online three weeks before its release, has “killed” the movie and they have suffered “huge” losses.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter to share the day one collections of the film.

Salam Khan-starrer Sultan is still going strong at the box office with a business of Rs 7.43 cr. on its second week’s Friday. The film got released on July 6 and by far has broken all records with its collections of Rs 236.59 cr. Family audience also preferred the Salman Khan film over the sex comedy.

The makers of Great Grand Masti said that the copy of their film that got leaked online was the same that was submitted to the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal.

Great Grand Masti was supposed to release on July 22, but it was out in cinema houses on July 15 after it was leaked online.

The team of Masti franchise, who continued promoting the film, were, initially tight-lipped about the leak. However, the makers and the actors finally addressed a press conference, where they spoke regarding the leak and piracy of the movie.
