Veteran actor Dilip Kumar discharged from Lilavati Hospital, see pic

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar, who was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on April 15 following respiratory problems, has been discharged today.

After almost a week’s stay at Lilavati hospital, veteran actor Dilip Kumar was discharged today before noon. Looking hale and hearty, Dilip Kumar wearing a light pink shirt was wheeled out of the hospital at approximately 11.55 am and was accompanied by wife Saira and other family members.

Dilip Kumar was greeted by the motley crowd that had gathered around the hospital entrance. Soon the thespian was wheeled into a waiting car and Saira Banu took her place next to him in the vehicle. Before zooming away, Saira expresses her gratitude and thanks to all those who prayed for the superstar actor’s good health.

Doctors had earlier planned to discharge him yesterday evening but decided against it as they felt morning would be a better time for discharge keeping in mind the patient’s comfort.

Dilip Kumar’s wife, actress Saira Banu had earlier said that the actor was hospitalised as he was suffering from high fever, chest infection and respiratory problems.

ANI tweeted the news of him being discharged from the hospital.

Dr. Jalil Parker told the media yesterday, “Dilip Kumar is doing well and he is healthy. His reports are normal. We have decided to discharge him tomorrow morning as opposed to today keeping in mind the patient’s comfort.”

The legendary actor, whose real name is Mohammad Yusuf Khan, acted in many superhit films during his six-decade long career such as “Madhumati”, “Devdas”, “Mughal-e-Azam”, “Ganga Jamuna”, “Ram Aur Shyam” and “Karma”.

He was last seen on-screen in the film “Qila” in 1998. He was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke award in 1994 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015.

The actor was admitted to the hospital following respiratory problems and has now fully recovered.
