Pune: 16-year-old drowns in Pashan Lake

The deceased has been identified as Akash Parshuram Chavan, a resident of Pashan.

A 16-year-old school student drowned in Pashan lake where he had gone for a swim with his friends on Monday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Akash Parshuram Chavan, a resident of Pashan. Fire brigade officials said that Akash, went to Pashan Lake with his friends around 1 pm.

Sometime later, he could not be seen. His friends searched him but he could not be found. The fire brigade control room was called at 2 pm.

The fire brigade team launched a search for him in a boat. The body was found around 5 pm.
Residents said that Akash was a Class 10 student of a local school from Pashan and was the only child of his parents.
