To commemorate the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev, Ramgarhia Educational Council, Miller Ganj, Ludhiana, took out an eco friendly ‘Green Nagar Kirtan’ in collaboration with volunteer groups, EcoSikh, Young Flares, and VMAD on Wednesday.

The procession aimed at encouraging eco-friendly celebrations and sensitising people about the value of keeping our environment clean and green. In order to minimize the Styrofoam garbage, people only used steel cutlery for langar. People were also discouraged from bursting crackers during the celebrations.

The volunteers picked garbage from the roads moving along the procession like water glasses, polythene, flower petals etc. The holy procession started from Ramgarhia Gurdwara Sahib and passing through Vishkarma Chowk, it covered Gill Road and its adjoining areas and came back to Gurdwara Sahib.
