Delhi CM announces hike in DTC drivers’ salaries

Kejriwal said soon the government would also come up with awards for best drivers and conductors.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday announced that the salaries of all Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) contractual drivers would be hiked by Rs 2,500 to Rs 4,000. He said the government had decided to increase their salaries from Rs 4 to Rs 5 per km per month for up to 2,250 km from September 1.

Drivers driving more than 2,250 km per month would be paid Rs 6 per km. Kejriwal said soon the government would also come up with awards for best drivers and conductors. He gave away awards to the city’s top 10 bus depots with the Ghazipur depot rated No. 1.
