Bangalore blast: HC notice to Centre, state over victim’s plea for relief
The victim also sought the creation of National Policy of Compensation and Rehabilitation (NPCR) for victims of bomb blasts in the country.

The Karnataka High Court issued notices to the Home Ministries at the Centre and in the state, following a petition filed by a bomb blast victim for a compensation of Rs 1 crore. The 19-year-old college student, Leesha Doreswamy, was injured in the blast that was carried out by alleged members of the banned Al Ummah outfit from Tamil Nadu outside the BJP office in Bangalore on April 17, 2013.

In her petition, Leesha also sought the creation of a National Policy of Compensation and Rehabilitation for victims of bomb blasts in the country. She sought a policy where a special committee can recommend compensation to the victims so that they get relief for medical expenses, mobility cost and also job security.
