Gujarat HC extends Naroda Patiya convict’s bail

The Gujarat High Court has extended the temporary bail of Kishan Khubchand Korani, a convict in Naroda Patiya riots case, for two months. Korani is reportedly suffering from metastasis cancer. The Special Investigation Team, which investigated the case, didn’t dispute the seriousness of the ailments therefore the court extended the bail for two more months.

The order stated that the treatment shall be placed on record irrespective of the stage of the ailment and requirement of any further extension.

The order, pronounced on Friday, mentioned that “even if the further extension is not required, the medical papers clearly indicating the treatment taken hereafter must be placed on record with the copy to the jail authority and all the concerned.”

Earlier last week, another co-convict Babubhai Patel alias Babu Bajrangi was granted a week-long bail to attend his son’s wedding.
