Putting an end to the ongoing speculations, Raghuram Rajan on Saturday announced he wouldn’t continue for a second term as the RBI governor.

The central bank chief said he wants to return to “academia” after his term ends in September. BJP leader Subramanaian Swamy ran a tirade against Rajan for his policies. He shot multiple letters to PM Modi seeking Rajan’s removal as the RBI chief and, in fact, asked Modi to order CBI-led probe into the RBI’s alleged flouting licencing rules.
