Becoming the latest company to join the foldable smartphone bandwagon, OnePlus Thursday launched the Open at a global event in Mumbai. The OnePlus Open is lighter and thinner than other foldable even though it offers a bigger screen, new software for the form factor as well as powerful cameras and a large battery. The OnePlus Open stands apart because it does not reduce the size of the cover screen and offers a large 6.3-inch screen up front and a 7.8-inch tablet screen when unfolded. It also offers a fresh take on how software can be customised for the foldable form factor with Open Canvas letting users split the screen into three different windows. The phone has five cameras including two front-facing selfie cameras. The rear cameras debut a new LYTIA sensor from Sony with pixel stacked technology.
