Gagan Narang, 33, is a recipient of the Padma Shri and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award and boasts of a long haul of medals at the Commonwealth Games – eight gold medals and a silver and bronze apiece, Narang will head to Rio de Janeiro for his fourth Olympics. He would be eager to replicate the medal winning exploits of London Olympics but also improve on his final medal (he won bronze then in the 10m air rifle event). His father gifted him an air pistol at the age of 14 to introduce him to the sport after noticing his knack for popping balloons with ease at the Marina Beach in Chennai. He will be participating in three disciplines at the Rio 2016 Olympics and has admitted that peaking in all three during a small time period is a task that he’d have to overcome. This could very well be his last Olympics.
