Commentary
We are back with the chase. The umpires have made their way out in the middle followed by the players of Bangladesh. Muhammad Waseem and Muhammad Zohaib has walked out as the openers for UAE. Shoriful Islam will bowl the first over for Bangladesh.
... The Run Chase ...
The UAE bowlers and fielders had a tough time against Bangladesh, with Muhammad Jawadullah standing out by taking 3 wickets with his skillful variations. Saghir Khan also chipped in with 2 wickets. Now, UAE faces a challenging target, but given their promising performance in the first game, a more mature effort from them could potentially help them chase it down. We'll be back with updates on the UAE's chase soon.
Bangladesh got off to a flying start, with the opening pair adding 90 runs. Tanzid Hasan was in superb form, showcasing an aggressive approach and top-scoring with 59 runs. Litton Das struggled slightly for his 40 off 32 balls, while Tawhid Hridoy played a supporting role and scored a quickfire 45.
The decision to ask Bangladesh to bat first has backfired on Waseem, as Bangladesh posted a strong total of 205 runs after being asked to bat first.

All set for action. The UAE players are out in the middle. The skipper, Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan will open for Bangladesh. Matiullah Khan to bowl first. Let's play...
PITCH REPORT - It's the same surface as the first game. The pitch looks hard and without much grass. There could be some true bounce for the pacers and some swing up front. The bowlers need to apply themselves. The batters will get full value for their shots.
Bangladesh captain Litton Das expressed his preference for batting first, stating that his team played good cricket but is looking to improve. He suggested that a total of 170 or more would be a competitive score on this ground. Informs that Najmul Hossain Shanto, Rishad Hossain, Nahid Rana and Shoriful Islam comes into the XI.
The skipper of UAE, Muhammad Waseem says they will bowl first. Tells that the last game was very close and hopes they'll cross the line today. Shares that the middle order needs to step up with the bat. Informs that they have made two changes with Aryansh Sharma and Saghir Khan coming into the XI. Mentions they think 150-160 could be a competitive score.
Bangladesh (Playing XI) - Litton Das (C), Tanzid Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Tawhid Hridoy, Jaker Ali (WK), Shamim Hossain, Rishad Hossain, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Shoriful Islam, Tanvir Islam, Nahid Rana.
United Arab Emirates (Playing XI) - Muhammad Waseem (C), Aryansh Sharma (WK) (In for Sanchit Sharma), Alishan Sharafu, Rahul Chopra, Asif Khan, Dhruv Parashar, Muhammad Zohaib, Haider Ali, Muhammad Jawadullah, Matiullah Khan, Saghir Khan (In for Muhammad Zuhaib).
TOSS - The United Arab Emirates has won the toss and they have elected to field first.
Bangladesh's victory in the first T20I was built on a strong batting performance, highlighted by Parvez Hossain Emon's century. Emon's 54-ball 100 helped Bangladesh post 191 in 20 overs. The Bangladeshi bowlers then restricted UAE to 164, with Hasan Mahmud grabbing three wickets and four other bowlers sharing the remaining wickets. Bangladesh will look to maintain their unbeaten record and clinch the series with a game to spare, while UAE will aim to avoid a series defeat and force a decider. Stay tuned for toss and team updates...
In the series opener, UAE put up a spirited fight but ultimately fell short against Bangladesh. Despite a flying start courtesy of captain Muhammad Waseem's half-century, UAE's batting lineup collapsed, with Asif Khan's valiant effort not enough to prevent a 27-run loss. Waseem and Rahul Chopra had a promising partnership, but their dismissals triggered a collapse, with UAE being bowled out for 164.
Hello and welcome to all the cricket enthusiasts. The United Arab Emirates and Bangladesh are set to clash in the second T20I of their three-match series at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Initially scheduled for two matches, the series was extended to three after discussions between the two cricket boards. The third and final match will be played at the same venue on Wednesday, May 21.
... MATCHDAY ...
The stage is set once again in Sharjah for the 2nd T20I between the United Arab Emirates and Bangladesh in this now 3-match series. Bangladesh head into this clash with momentum after a convincing win in the series opener. Their batting clicked with a high-octane approach, capitalising on Sharjah’s flat deck, while their bowling, particularly the pace attack, exploited early movement to stifle UAE’s chase. Litton Das, in his new captaincy role, has a versatile squad at his disposal. The top order’s aggression, led by Parvez Hossain Emon, a standout century-maker from game one, sets a strong foundation, while Tawhid Hridoy's middle-order stability and Rishad Hossain's leg-spin give them flexibility. Expect Bangladesh to stick with their high-tempo batting strategy, but they might experiment with their XI, potentially giving chances to fringe players like Jaker Ali or Nahid Rana, considering their packed T20 schedule ahead, including a Pakistan tour. Their key challenge will be maintaining bowling discipline in the death overs, an area where the UAE could exploit any looseness. UAE, despite the loss, showed flashes of potential in the first game. Their batting, anchored by Muhammad Waseem's fluent half-century, has the firepower to match Bangladesh’s intensity, but they need more consistency from Alishan Sharafu and Rahul Chopra to post or chase big totals. Their bowling, led by Muhammad Jawadullah's sharp pace, troubled Bangladesh early but lacked control in the middle overs. Sharjah’s pitch, typically a batting paradise with an average first-innings score around 150-160, suits UAE’s aggressive top order, but their spinners will need to step up against Bangladesh’s spin-savvy batters. They’ll aim to tighten their death bowling and capitalise on any Bangladesh experimentation. Tactically, Bangladesh holds the upper hand with their depth and form. Their ability to set or chase 170-plus totals makes them favourites, but UAE’s home advantage and hunger to level the series can’t be underestimated. The pitch should favour batters again, though pacers might find early assistance, and spinners could dictate the middle overs. Bangladesh will push for an unsurpassable lead, but UAE’s knack for punching above their weight at home could make this a closer contest. It’s all about execution under pressure. Expect a high-scoring game with moments of brilliance on both sides. Settle in for a cracking night in Sharjah.
That is all from this game. All to play for in the third and final T20I between these two which will be played on the 21st of this month at 3 pm GMT. You can join us earlier for the build up. Till then, goodbye and cheers!
Litton Das, the captain of Bangladesh says any loss is painful. Feels they batted well but United Arab Emirates got a bit of help through dew. Shares Nahid Rana just had a bad day and they expect him to come back stronger.
Muhammad Waseem wins the PLAYER OF THE MATCH AWARD. Waseem expressed his delight and speechlessness over the team's win against Bangladesh. He credited the team's success to sticking to their game plan and knowing the conditions well, which gave them the confidence to chase down the target. Waseem focused on playing his natural game and batting deep, and he was thrilled that the winning runs came in the form of a six in the final over. He concluded by stating that the team will continue to build on their strengths in the next game.
...Presentation...
Bangladesh will be kicking themselves right now. In the crucial moments, they somehow, with so much experience, failed to show character and allowed United Arab Emirates to get in the game. Dropped catches, executing plans or bowling in the right areas. They did everything wrong possible. They bowled well throughout the innings but as said earlier, it was in the last 2-3 overs where they let themselves down. Earlier in the game, UAE asked Bangladesh to bat first and the decision backfired majorly as Bangladesh went onto score in excess of 200. Hasan-Das' opening par made sure the visitors get a good start and it was followed by contributions from Shanto, Tawhid Hridoy and Ali in the middle over. Bangladesh did slowed down in the middle phase but they still had enough runs on the board.
Once Muhammad Waseem fell, it was Bangladesh's game to win and things were going as per the script but the opening stand of more than 100 between Muhammad Zohaib and Muhammad Waseem did a lot of damage to the total. Zohaib fell but Waseem continued his merry way after being dropped on 64 by Tawhid Hridoy. United Arab Emirates still needed plenty after his wicket and the middle order did stepped up, unlike the first game as Asif Khan, Alishan Sharafu and Saghir Khan with their handy contributions kept United Arab Emirates in the game. However, it came down to the final over and UAE held their nerves to pull off the heist.
Just before the start of the second T20I, the news spread out that a third game has been added after the words to both cricketing boards. Well, if you are still thinking why it was added, then you have missed the historic scenes today. We will get you through though - two brainfade moments from Bangladesh. 18.6, Shoriful Islam with a poor throw which meant a boundary through overthrow in a crunch situation and a waist height no ball from Tanzim Hasan Sakib in the final over. We feel these two moments cost Bangladesh the game.
United Arab Emirates have made history! For the first time United Arab Emirates have beaten Bangladesh in T20Is! Absolute scenes at the Sharjah cricket stadium as the UAE players steam out in jubilation. Another golden leaf added to this green UAE cricketing story.
