Referring to problems faced by people during current floods in Assam, Sonowal said the government was taking steps to provide relief materials and stepped up rescue operations for ensuring proper arrangement for flood affected and relief camp inmates.

Terrorists on Monday killed seven Amarnath pilgrims, including six women, and injured 19 others as they fired at a bus in Kashmir's Anantnag district. Terming the attack as one of biggest tragedies, Abdullah said people of Kashmir were not communal.
An alert was issued in Gujarat late last night after the news came in of the terror attack, in which majority of the victims were from the state. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani condemned the attack and said the country will never bow down to such an ideology.

'Not in My Name' name protest will be held again on Tuesday evening at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. On this occasion, the protest will be against the terror attack and killings of pilgrims who were returning from Amarnath on Monday.
"The Army chief has arrived here in Srinagar and will be interacting with DGP (S P Vaid) later in the day. Gen Rawat might also hold a meeting with DG CRPF," an Army official said. On Monday night, there was a militant attack on Amarnath pilgrims.
