The conference centre is spread over 53,399 sq m and has the capacity to seat 7,000 people in its multi-purpose and plenary halls combined — larger than the iconic Sydney Opera House which can hold around 5,900 in its various halls. (ANI Photo)

The project has been designed by international firm Aedas, which is the architect of Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, and Indian firm Arcop, which was one of the sub-consultants for IGI Airport Terminal 3. (PIB Twitter)

IECC boasts a magnificent amphitheater with a seating capacity of 3,000 individuals, equivalent to 3 PVR theatres combined.

According to the PMO statement, the building’s elliptical shape is inspired by the shankha or conch shell, while its walls and facades have several elements of traditional art. (PIB Twitter)
