The Lok Sabha candidate from Gandhinagar has been travelling rigorously across the country —from Shivamogga in Karnataka to Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh to Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh, from Puri in Orissa to Ahmedabad in Gujarat.
Polling was held in 38 seats in Tamil Nadu, 14 seats in Karnataka, 10 in Maharashtra, eight in Uttar Pradesh, five each in Assam, Bihar and Odisha, three each in Chhattisgarh and West Bengal, two in Jammu and Kashmir and one seat each in Manipur and Puducherry.
The Lok Sabha elections will see PM Narendra Modi’s bid to retain power at the Centre. Congress president Rahul Gandhi will try and revive fortunes of his party which was reduced to 44 seats in the 2014 General Elections.
From road-shows to rallies to corner meetings, political leaders are criss-crossing the country, campaigning for the 17th Lok Sabha elections. While the BJP-led NDA is seeking a second term, Opposition parties have united in their bid to oust the Narendra Modi government.
