
A major landslide in Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur district on Wednesday killed 10 people and trapped many on the Reckong Peo-Shimla Highway near Nugulsari. (PTI)

Nearly 300 personnel from the 43rd Battalion, 17th Battalion and 19th Battalion of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) along with teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the Army and local police rushed to the spot to carry out rescue operations. (PTI)

Shortly after the incident, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur spoke to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who stated that rescuing those trapped and providing them the best possible treatment was the topmost priority as of now. (PTI)
