And going by all of them, we think Kangana fans are in for a treat with this period drama. Here is everything you need to know about Manikarnika:

Ankita Lokhnade as Jhalkaribai
Apart from Kangana, the film also stars TV actor Ankita Lokhande in the role of Jhalkaribai who was considered as the right hand of Rani Laxmibai. In fact, due to her stark resemblance to Queen of Jhansi, Jhalkaribai was induced in her army and went on to act as her body-double to deceive the British during an attack.

Star cast
Atul Kulkarni will be playing the role of Ramchandra Pandurang Tope, popularly known as Tatya Tope in the historical drama who helped Rani Laxmibai regain control over Gwalior and free it from the clutches of the Britishers then. Tatya was also one of Manikarnika's closest friends during her childhood. Even Sonu Sood is a part of the star cast in the role of a warrior, Sadashiv. Nihaar Pandya, who was in the news for his alleged affair with Deepika Padukone, is also essaying the role of Baji Rao (II) in the film.

High-octane war scenes
Being a historical drama, Manikarnika is bound to have some grand battle scenes. And writer Vijayendra Prasad has exactly the same thing in mind. He told IANS, "The war episodes will be the major highlight of the film. It will be shot on a scale that has not been seen before on Indian screens." Currently, the film is on floors in Jaipur's Amer Fort.
