Awards are special for our B-town celebrities. Not that they ever need a reason to let down their hair, but Award season is when the spotlight is on the beauties, giving them a chance to strut their best. Here's a look at some of the past gowns and dresses that have made their way to the Screen Awards.

Deepika Padukone, Screen Awards 2012-2013: Green seems to be Deepika Padukone's favourite colour when it comes to the Screen Awards. For the 18th edition, the actress stunned in an emerald green backless Gauri and Nainika gown with side ruffles from the waist down. The side-braid and matching earrings were a good choice.
For the 19th edition, the 'Ram-Leela' beauty picked a beautiful lace Dolce & Gabbana gown. A voluminous hairdo and neutral makeup finished off her look.

Katrina Kaif, Screen Awards 2009, 2012, 2013: Katrina Kaif chose to wear red twice to match the carpet at the Screen Awards. First time around in 2009, the actress donned a satin Jenny Packham gown with blingy earrings.
Year 2012 was a tad better as she picked a Notte By Marchesa column gown.
But 2013 was an absolute winner: Katrina Kaif walked the red carpet in a strapless Naeem Khan gown and looked gorgeous doing it.

Priyanka Chopra, Screen Awards 2013: Songstress Priyanka Chopra showed off her figure in a stunning shimmery black Roberto Cavalli gown last year. The braided updo and blingy danglers added to her look. Here's a picture of the actress giving Shah Rukh Khan a peck on stage.

Anushka Sharma, Screen Awards 2012: 'Jab Tak Hain Jaan' beauty Anushka Sharma was stunning in a rust coloured Bibhu Mohapatra gown at the 18th edition of the Screen Awards last year. The actress paired the dress with black sandals and jewellery by Anmol.

Shruti haasan, Screen Awards 2013: 'D-Day' beauty Shruti Haasan was absolutely eye-catching in a purple Amit GT gown at the Screen Awards 2013. Deep red lips and voluminous hair made her look stand out even more. We like!

Gauri Khan, Screen Awards 2013: Queen Khan, Gauri was stylish in a lovely wine coloured modified Roland Mouret Gali dress at the 19th Screen Awards. Gauri was accompanied by daughter Suhana who was pretty in a floral dress.

Sunny Leone, Screen Awards 2013: Sexy siren Sunny Leone was elegant at the 19th Screen Awards in a white sheer-sleeved evening dress. The actress upped her quotient with silver accessories.

Amy Jackson, Screen Awards 2012: Amy Jackson sizzled in a silvery-grey Namrata Joshipura gown with a thigh-high slit as she posed along with her then beau Prateik Babbar at the 18th Screen Awards. Side-swept hair, chandelier earrings metallic clutch and sandals to match finished off her look.

Parineeti Chopra, Screen Awards 2013: 'Shuddh Desi Romance' actress Parineeti Chopra drowned herself in a black Sabyasachi creation with gold embroidery at the bottom at the 19th Screen Awards.

Asin, Screen Awards 2012: Southern sensation Asin chose to wear a white strapless BCBG gown for the Screen Awards. The actress looked elegant with the side-swept hair and red lips that complimented the look beautifully.

Jacqueline Fernandez, Screen Awards 2010: In 2010, Jacqueline Fernandez was pretty in a white strapless gown. We must say the actress looked gorgeous from the neck up.

Chitrangada Singh, Screen Awards 2013: 'Inkaar' actress Chitrangada Singh was absolutely gorgeous in a white Roberto Cavalli strapless evening gown at the 19th Screen Awards. Deep red lips made the look stand out even better.

Neha Dhupia, Screen Awards 2013: Style diva Neha Dhupia went for a monochrome maxi by Nupur Kanoi with a striking blue shrug for the 19th Screen Awards. The sleek pulled-back hairdo and jewellery added to the look.

Aditi Rao Hydari, Screen Awards 2013: 'Murder 3' actress Aditi Rao Hydari picked a stunning white Gauri and Nainika gown for the 19th Screen Awards. The dress had a beautiful vintage ball-gown feel to it. Red lips and an elegant updo added to her glamourous look.

Sonakshi Sinha, Screen Awards 2013: 'Dabangg' actress Sonakshi Sinha wooed all in a black Falguni and Shane Peacock gown at the 19th Screen Awards.

Alia Bhatt, Screen Awards 2013: 'Student of the Year' beauty Alia Bhatt went for gold at the 19th edition of the Screen Awards with this spunky one-shouldered Gaurav Gupta dress.
However, maybe a different hair-do and delicate footwear would have worked better than the chunky black pumps.

Huma Qureshi, Screen Awards 2013: 'D-Day' actress Huma Qureshi was seen in a belted Sailex gown at the 19th Screen Awards. Though the colour is beautiful, we wish she had picked something more elegant. Maybe, 2014 will be an improvement.

Dia Mirza, Screen Awards 2011: Dia Mirza was glamorous in a deep aubergine coloured Gauri and Nainika gown for the 17th Screen Awards in 2011. The colour pick was a pleasant surprise and worked well for the actress. She finished off her look with a simple braid, earrings and a clutch.

Aarti Chhabria, Screen Awards 2013: Model-turned-actress Aarti Chhabria, who has featured in films like 'Milenge Milenge' appeared statuesque in this dual toned gown as she attended the 19th Screen Awards in 2013. Apart from the shimmery gold bit, the gown seemed a bit plain. Even the belted-waist didn’t seem to help.

Ameesha Patel, Screen Awards 2012-2013: Ameesha Patel, who is known to be an attention-seeker when it comes to her choice of outfits, was more subdued at the Screen appearances. The 18th Screen Awards saw the actress in a red strapless gown. Though not a fan of the dress, we're glad it wasn't hurting to the eye. She accessorised with danglers and a gold clutch. For 2013, Ameesha Patel picked a black Ramona Narang gown with cutout sides. It was a definite improvement from last year.

Sagarika Ghatge, Screen Awards 2013: Besties Sagarika Ghatge and Vidya Malvade posed together for the cameras at the 19th Screen Awards. While Sagarika went for gold in a strapless tasseled dress, Vidya went desi in a heavy pink anarkali. We think Sagarika seemed more in tune with what she’s wearing at the occasion.
