Andaz Apna Apna turns 20: Reliving it with Amar, Prem, Crime Master Gogo

The iconic comedy classic 'Andaz Apna Apna' completes 20 years on Thursday (April 11), since its original release back in 1994. We relive it with - Amar, Prem, Crime Master Gogo and some of the famous characters from the film that still make us roll with laughter after all these years.

Amar, Aamir Khan: The role of Amar was played by Aamir Khan. The actor hasn’t done much comedy in his career, but his portrayal of the cunning Amar seeking the hand of the rich heiress was a refreshing change. In the film, Amar pretends to have lost his memory after being knocked down by the rich girl’s car.

Prem, Salman Khan: Salman Khan did a great job playing the lovable Prem. He too dreams of marrying the rich girl, played by Raveena Tandon. He played a simple guy who is constantly bullied by the over smart Amar.

Crime Master Gogo: Shakti Kapoor played the role of Gogo, the family thief. In the climax, the fight scene between Prem and Gogo is one of the most hilarious parts of the film. 'Gogo Ji aapka Ghaghra' is still remembered.

Teja aka Shyam Gopal Bajaj/Ram Gopal Bajaj: Actor Paresh Rawal was praised for his performance in the film as the crazy villain Teja and his twin-brother the wealthy Ram Gopal Bajaj. 'Teja mark yahan hai' still leaves you in splits.

Raveena: Raveena Tandon gave one of her best performances as the rich heiress, Raveena, who is actually the secretary Karishma. Her romance with Amar gave us quite a few laughs.

Karishma: Karisma Kapoor played Raveena's secretary Karishma in the film. However, she is the actual heiress, Raveena who had switched her identity with her secretary as she wanted to find a boy who will truly love her and not her money.

Robert and Bhalla: Robert and Bhalla are the rogues planted by Shyam Gopal Bajaj aka Teja in the household. Played by Viju Khote and Shehzad Khan, the duo shared a great chemistry working hand-in-hand comedy style.

Bankelal Bhopali/ Murli Manohar/ Johnny: Veteran comedian Jagdeep played Prem's father Bankelal Bihari in the film. While, Deven Verma played Amar's father Murli Manohar who is a barber. Mehmood plays Johnny, the owner of a production company who cheats Prem into paying him huge sums of money with false promises of making him a film star.

Govinda and Juhi: Actors Govinda and Juhi Chawla played their real selves in the film. They were seen in Amar’s dream sequence in the film.
