Popping the big question is one of those moments people dream about, and many go out of their way to make the experience unforgettable. While some keep it classic, others get creative, and every now and then, a proposal manages to capture the Internet’s heart. One such proposal from Russia is now making waves online.
Daniil, 21, from Krasnoyarsk, took his girlfriend Nastya, also 21, on their very first scuba dive off Cape Tarkhankut in Crimea, and turned it into a memory she’ll never forget. While exploring the seabed, Nastya spotted what looked like a bottle of champagne tucked into the rocks. She swam closer to investigate, only to turn around and find Daniil right in front of her, holding an open ring box.

According to the New York Post, the stunned diver watched as her longtime boyfriend gently slid the ring onto her finger, bubbles floating all around them. The two then shared a hug underwater before swimming off hand in hand, newly engaged.
The couple has been together for three years and spends their summers working in Crimea.
Reacting to the proposal, netizens took to the comments to express their views. A user wrote, “At some point i hope we all find that one person that makes us do the things that make us happy.”

Another user wrote, “This gave me anxiety…in all aspects.” Some users weren’t left happy by the proposal. A user wrote, “Gives me anxiety that they’re stepping all over the reef!”

While some Gen Z couples are choosing adventurous proposals like this one, others are taking a very different route. “Quiet proposing is a new trend where engagements are kept intimate and private, without public displays or widespread announcements, focusing on a personal, low-key moment for the couple,” Ella Citron-Thompkins, an expert for the Diamond Factory, told the New York Post.
