VAMNICOM to set up centre for entrepreneurship

Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Co-operative Management will establish a Centre for Entrepreneurship to guide and help those among its students and alumni who want to start their own businesses rather than opting for jobs in the private sector.

Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Co-operative Management (VAMNICOM) will establish a Centre for Entrepreneurship to guide and help those among its students and alumni who want to start their own businesses rather than opting for jobs in the private sector.

The announcement was made at the inauguration ceremony of the 45th batch of Diploma in Co-operative Business Mangement (DCBM) and 19th batch of Post Graduate Diploma in Management,Agriculture Business Management (PGDM-ABM). ).

IT scientist Vijay Bhatkar,Chandra Pal Singh Yadav,President NCUI and Chairman NCCT,Changdeorao Holkar,Director NAFED,Dr Dinesh,Chief Executive NCUI, Shivajirao Patil,Vice President,Vasantdada Sugar Institute were present on the occasion.

The Entrepreneurship Centre will be developed in association with the Maharashtra Council for Entrepreneurship Development (MCED). The centre will work to provide amenities such as finance,electricity and water.

Anil Karanjkar,programme director,PGDM-ABM said,VAMNICOM graduates initially take up jobs with government and private corporations. After gaining an experience of two-three years,many of them want to start a business. The centre will help these students to clear the initial hurdles in this regard. We are hopeful the centre will encourage our students and alumni to become self-employed and create job opportunities for others in rural areas.

Addressing the students,Dr Bhatkar said,India is now among the top ten economies globally. Agriculture plays a key role in the growth of the economy and hence there is a great opportunity for you to contribute to this growth.
