UT releases fresh list of teachers for govt schools

The result of candidates for the post of teachers in social studies (100 posts),was posted on the official website of the Education Department. These included results of the 19 candidates interviewed again at the Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 16,on June 19. The results for medical,non-medical,Hindi,Punjabi,physical education and junior basic training (JBT),were being uploaded at the time of filing of this report.

The Director of Public Instruction (school) Sunil Bhatia said,“All results have been declared today. According to the revised results,additional candidates have been appointed including those whose cases were recently reconsidered. There were fear among candidates who had already joined the services that their services would be terminated,but the department has taken a decision in their favour.”

The recruitment process hit the headlines when numerous discrepancies were highlighted in the process and results declared under various categories. The transparency of the recruitment process was challenged by candidates through various representations submitted with the department.

While the department had been evading the complaints as claiming it to be human error and compilation mistakes on the part of DOEACC,it finally revised the results.

Though the UT Education department claimed it has posted the revised results on the department’s official website on Wednesday,it was not accessible. The links for the results on the website were not working. When this was communicated to the DPI(s) Sunil Bhatia,he justified that a lot of people must be accessing the result,which may have created problem.
