UP releases Rs 6.84 cr compensation package

The Uttar Pradesh government on Sunday released a package of Rs 6.84 crore to compensate people for the loss of their movable and

immovable property in the communal violence in Muzaffarnagar.

districts.

As many as 62 persons were reported to have died in the communal violence. Several houses,shops,vehicles and other valuables were damaged in the

violence.

Officer on Special Duty in home department,A K Singh,who is in charge of distributing the compensation,said the process has started and affected people would be given compensation money through the office of concerned district magistrates.

Singh said the compensation for the damage of immovable property would be given in two instalments.

“There are many persons who lost both movable and immovable property in the violence. There are around 650 persons whose properties were affected in the violence,” said the officer on special duty.
