Two killed by speeding dumpers in Noida

Two people were mowed down by speeding dumpers in Noida on Monday. While one of the victims is a software engineer,the other is an Anti Terrorism Squad officer.

Two people were mowed down by speeding dumpers in Noida on Monday. While one of the victims is a software engineer,the other is an Anti Terrorism Squad officer. Jai Prakash Gupta,a 38-year-old ATS constable,died in a road accident when a speeding dumper hit his motorcycle from behind killing him on the spot near the Sector-57 crossing. The victim was a resident of Kundli and was transferred three months ago to the UP ATS Noida unit. “Gupta was transferred from Rampur police station to the Noida ATS,” said a senior police official. The case of hit and run has been registered in sector-24 police station.

In Sector-58,another dumper claimed the life of a software engineer working with Tech Mahindra.

Kshitij Gupta,28,a resident of Modinagar,was returning home on his friend’s motorcycle which was hit by a speeding dumper in Sector-58.

These are not isolated incidents. According to the data available with the police till October 15,there have been 564 accidents in which around 261 men and 28 women have died.

A senior officer in the district informed that 90 per cent of these 289 accidental deaths were due to killer dumpers.
