Three suicides in two days

Three suicides were reported in Sahakarnagar area between Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

On Saturday evening,a 31-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Sambhaji Nagar. The deceased has been identified as Vandana Thorve. She left a suicide note saying she is committing suicide,as she could not bear her illness.

Archana Ugale (28) also committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling at her mothers residence in Dattawdi on Saturday evening. According to the police,she has written-I am commiting suicide-on her palm. The Sahakarnagar police is investigating the above cases. On Sunday morning,a 56-year-old man,identified as as Prabhakar Pandurang Gawli,a resident of Bibvewadi,was found dead at Taljai hills. Gawli had committed suicide by hanging himself near Taljai hills. The police found a diary near the body in which he wished his wife well.

The police said Gawli worked in a laundry and was an alcoholic. Gawli was separated from his wife for more than 15 years. The couple has three children. Police Sub Inspector D K Pangre is investigating the case.
