Shiv Sena protests outside Shobhaa De’s house over ‘Mumbai state’ tweet

The party even demanded that a case must be registered against the writer for suggesting that Mumbai should be separated from Maharashtra,asking the writer to apologise.

Hitting out at De,senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that the writer belonged to the “Page 3 culture of Mumbai”,adding that “she has no understanding of the people of Maharashtra”.

However,unfazed by the protests,Shobhaa De refused to apologise over her statement,saying she was “a proud Maharashtrian”.

Shobhaa De has been facing the ire of the political parties after her tweet said,”Maharashtra and Mumbai??? Why not? Mumbai has always fancied itself as an independent entity anyway. This game has countless possibilities.”

Reacting to the tweet,MNS chief Raj Thackeray attacked De saying creating a new state was not as easy as getting a divorce and De would understand that.
